Annette Frier and Christoph Maria Herbst examine world literature for the great art of small disputes in complex relationships. As a fighting couple, the two are a well-rehearsed team - they moved magnificently between comedy and tragedy in the TV series "Merz versus Merz".


Annette Frier, born in Cologne in 1974, is one of the best-known actresses and comedians in Germany, but she has also shown her full range with a number of different roles in the serious subject. For many years she has played leading roles in various television and cinema projects and has received various awards for this, including the German Television Award, the Bavarian Television Award, the German Comedy Award several times, and the Jupiter in the category "Best National Actress". Annette Frier is always drawn back to the theater stage and she acts as a speaker in numerous radio play productions.

Christoph Maria Herbst, born in Wuppertal in 1966, became known on television through appearances in various comedy shows such as “Sketchup – The Next Generation”. The actor was awarded the German Comedy Prize 2002 for his role in the comedy series "Ladykracher". The actor became known to a broad public through his role as Bernd Stromberg in the comedy television series of the same name on ProSieben. For his role as a disgusting boss, he was awarded the Adolf Grimme Prize (2006) and the German Comedy Prize three times in a row (2005, 2006, 2007).
