Alt-Rixdorfer Christmas Market

This traditional Christmas market on Richardplatz in Neukölln-Rixdorf shines with the romantic glow of gas lamps on the second weekend of Advent. At the heart of Richardplatz is a historic smithy, part of the listed Böhmisches Dorf. You can look over the shoulder of the master blacksmith at work and, if you like, you can take home some good luck in the form of a handmade horseshoe.

More than 100 charitable societies, organisations and associations present handmade goods made of wood, metal, ceramic or wax at this market. Other features of the market include mulled wine from cherished family recipes, self-made greeting cards, original toys and much more.

Several vocal and musical groups provide for a varied entertainment programme over the weekend. Among the highlights for children are Santa Claus with his angels, a fairy tale witch, pony rides and camels with the three wise men from the East.
