On the occasion of the 80th birthday of the Japanese graphic designer Katsumi Asaba, eighty international graphic designers, architects and artists were invited to each design a carpet, which was exhibited in Shenzhen, China in April/May this year.
The participants were able to share their wishes for Asaba, but also their worldview, artistic perspectives, languages, cultures and regional differences as well as ideas about a globally networked world and other contemporary topics in the form of a carpet.
The well-known creatives include personalities such as CYAN, Fons Hickmann, Anna Kulachek, Uwe Loesch, M/M Paris, Stefan Sagmeister, Paula Scher, Niklaus Troxler, Henning Wagenbreth, Zwölf and many others.
On display is a selection of over thirty carpets and eighty original posters by Katsumi Asaba. Due to limited space, it is unfortunately not possible to show all 80 carpets.
