In order to provide visible and accessible information, the Thrombosis Action Alliance invites you to the ALEXA shopping centre at Alexanderplatz in Berlin on 13 October 2023:

What does a vein look like from the inside? How does a thrombosis develop and what is the best way to prevent it?

On the 10th World Thrombosis Day (WTT), recognised experts will provide answers to these and other questions on site.

The visual eye-catcher of the campaign will be the seven-metre-long, two-metre-high and 1.46-metre-wide vein.

The walk-in model not only invites visitors to touch and marvel at it, it also offers the members of the Action Alliance Thrombosis the opportunity to playfully introduce medical knowledge about thrombosis to ALEXA visitors and other interested people.

More than 40,000 people in Germany die every year as a result of a pulmonary embolism. After heart attacks and strokes, pulmonary embolism is the third most common cardiovascular disease. Many of these deaths could be prevented if the population knew about the first signs of thrombosis or about suitable prophylactic measures.

ALEXA visitors* will have the opportunity to strengthen their health literacy in thrombosis prevention on 13 October 2023.
