Cactus For Breakfast – "Trouble Comes In Fours" EP Release Show

Formed in Berlin in 2023, the band combines the raw energy of garage rock with reverb-soaked surf guitars, psychedelic textures and unpredictable grooves. Inspired by artists such as King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, The Growlers and Allah-Las, the quartet has developed a sound all of its own – nostalgic yet fresh, with fuzz guitars, catchy melodies and electrifying live energy.

2026 was a milestone year for the band. Following new releases, festival appearances across Germany and the expansion of their international reach, Cactus for Breakfast made it to SXSW London, where they played a showcase curated by Huck Magazine. The magazine described the band’s performance as “a rousing set of surf-inspired guitars blended with blues, psychedelia and the twang of the American Deep South” – including their now-famous Cactus Dance.

Now the band is bringing that very same energy back to Berlin. Look forward to an evening full of fuzz guitars, psychedelic grooves, old favourites, new songs and, of course, the return of the Cactus Dance. Following the release show in Berlin, the lads will be heading out on a tour of Germany.

Band members come and go, friendships break apart, new ones form – but that one idea, that one vision, takes root and endures – and it takes a great deal of patience and perseverance to stick with it when the easier solution would be to give up.

This is more or less how many, if not most, musical careers unfold – and ‘Don’t Panic’ by the Hamburg-based quintet wearemarvin has a similar story to tell. It took a full 14 years to complete this album, which songwriter and guitarist Sven Stellmach began writing in the summer of 2012 – and, fortunately, he didn’t let setbacks such as changing band line-ups and several recording attempts deter him until the magic of these eleven songs was finally captured.

Eleven songs, influenced by the spirit of the early 2000s New York indie rock renaissance, which manage the feat of transforming despair, depression and existential questions into laid-back slacker rock anthems. Eleven songs that encourage you to accept setbacks, pick yourself up and simply carry on, even when everything seems to be against doing just that. Given these circumstances, the album title ‘Don’t Panic’ could not be more apt, and thus takes on an almost mantra-like effect.
