Campus Tour with a Look at Aircraft Restoration
Where cables and cars were once manufactured, more than 10,000 students now study. The former AEG Oberspree Cable Plant is now the campus of HTW Berlin. During a tour of the grounds, Prof. Dr. Dorothee Haffner will tell you about the site’s past and present.

Flugzeug „Bücker Bü 181 Bestmann“ von 1942
Afterward, you’ll visit the workshop where students are currently restoring an airplane. The aircraft, a 1942 “Bücker Bü 181 Bestmann,” served as a research aircraft until the 1970s. It was then transferred to the Uetersen Air Force Museum and repainted.
Prof. Dr. Lutz Strobach and his students are tasked with documenting the aircraft’s history. He will provide insights into his work and explain what makes restoring an aircraft so challenging.
This event is part of the Berlin Industrial Heritage Festival.
