Johanna and Aleksandra are exploring rhythm as a space for encounter and friction—as a way to connect without erasing differences.

Drawing on Teshkoto, a traditional male folk dance from North Macedonia, and Jenkka, a traditional couple’s dance from Finland, we aim to rethink collective movement beyond traditional forms, national identity, and gendered bodies. The work does not seek to preserve rhythm, but rather to reshape it through play and experimentation. At its core, it asks how collective movement can emerge when steps diverge, resonate with one another, and collide—thereby creating space for both resistance and harmony.

"reinkommen" is the latest series from ada Studio. It gives young choreographers the opportunity to open up their creative process, invite the audience in, and engage in dialogue.
