There's singing, mocking, provoking, dancing, lots of laughter, and it gets wild! With "Melli & Mataina – Uncensored! Busenfreundinnen auf Ab wegen" (Melli & Mataina – Uncensored! Best friends gone wild), two Berlin drag queens bring colorful comedy with a lot of heart and Berlin snark to the "Showbühne" stage at Potsdamer Platz!
The premiere of the uncensored, flamboyant play at Köthener Straße 44 is on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.
Two drag queens, one stage, and zero inhibitions! Diving into another glittering world with Melli and Mataina means humor meets drag excess. It's loud, sharp-tongued, cheeky, wonderfully crude, and glittery. The bosom buddies have been performing together for over 30 years. At the Showbühne am Potsdamer Platz, they now bring their years of experience as drag queens and many adventures to the stage with the "Melli & Mataina" show – cheeky remarks included. The current political world situation is also addressed.
Melli and Mataina say things that others would not dare to say. It is not uncommon for laughter to get stuck in your throat. But especially when
both drag queens sing and dance, the audience can hardly stay in their seats...
"Our guests can expect a wild and colorful show in which we don't mince words. We talk openly about the things that are close to the audience's hearts: sex and sexually transmitted diseases, gossip, beauty and plastic surgery, and more," says drag queen Mataina. "Travesty is an art form that is meant to be entertaining, but it is also socially critical and political. I think that, especially in view of the recent sharp increase in hostility towards gays and especially drag queens, we have
the entertainment industry, we also have a social responsibility. The more you are in the public eye, the more helpful it can be. And when that happens in a funny, charming way, it's the best thing ever!"
