Möbel Olfe
Kreuzberg at its best
Möbel Olfe is one of Berlin's most popular bars for lesbians and gays. The bar on the bustling Kottbusser Tor bears the fitting subtitle "Trinkhalle" (drinking hall). The ceilings are high, and concrete columns divide the space. The décor is constantly changing, with new elements being added all the time. From satellite dishes above the long wooden bar to real grass nailed to the wall, deer antlers and stuffed pike, you'll find everything here.
From the bustling Kottbusser Tor, a narrow passageway between Rossmann and a Turkish snack bar leads directly to the door of Möbel Olfe. However, the fact that it is so well hidden does not detract from its popularity. For many years, Olfe has been considered a jewel of the queer bar scene and enriches Kreuzberg with its incomparable charm.
From furniture store to hotspot of queer life in Berlin
Between the tall glass façades and concrete pillars of Möbel Olfe, there was once a furniture store. But those days are long gone. Today, the diversity of Berlin's nightlife is celebrated here with unusual décor and an extensive drinks menu. Antlers, disco balls, tinsel and old neon tubes hang above the long wooden bar. An improvised look that goes down well with the equally colourful crowd.
DJ nights and FLINTA* Tuesday at the Trinkhalle Olfe
Möbel Olfe describes itself as a drinking hall – and hits the nail on the head. The Polish beer and the many Russian vodka varieties are highly recommended.
Queer scene-goers, artists, visitors to Berlin and local regulars spend their nights here. The atmosphere is always exuberant and respectful. With regular theme nights such as FLINTA* Tuesday, Wendy & Bully and spontaneous DJ sets, you can experience a unique insight into Berlin's vibrant nightlife here.
Our tips
- Safe and queer partying: Every Tuesday at 9:30 p.m., FLINTA* night kicks off at Olfe with DJs and a dance floor.
- Thursday is considered the queeriest day of the week at Möbel Olfe: lots of LGBTQ+ guests, changing DJ sets and a relaxed atmosphere.
