Manufacturers in Mitte

Hands-on craftsmanship

This individual day tour through selected Crafted in Berlin manufacturers in Mitte is aimed at anyone who wants to get involved rather than just watch. From your first cup of coffee in the morning to high-proof herbal concoctions in the evening, you will experience just how creative enjoyment can be in the capital.

Start the day at Flying Roasters

The morning begins in Wedding at Flying Roasters. At this organic roastery, everything revolves around sustainably grown coffee and direct trade. Here you will learn how green beans are turned into aromatic coffee and why sustainable cultivation and direct trade play a central role. In the café, you can enjoy espresso, cappuccino or filter coffee – freshly roasted and prepared with a great deal of expertise.

Tip: On selected dates, you can take part in a roastery tour at 10 a.m. on Saturdays and learn more about roasting profiles, bean origins and aroma diversity. You can find the current dates on the Flying Roasters website.

Experience pleasure for the eyes, ears and palate with Wohlfarth chocolate

A short walk takes you to the Wohlfarth Schokoladeshop. Here, chocolate is not only a treat for the palate, but also for the eyes – and even the ears. Through a glass wall in the shop, you can watch the team at work and see how fine creations are made from high-quality ingredients. Meanwhile, the Beach Boys play on chocolate records – a place that combines enjoyment and craftsmanship with a wink.

The tour continues to mimi ferments, which is only a few stops away by tram or bus. Those who prefer to walk can easily cover the distance on foot – a great opportunity to discover the neighbourhood along the way.

Learn about fermentation at mimi ferments

After so much sweetness, an exciting change of perspective follows: at mimi ferments , everything revolves around the art of fermentation. Here you can discover handmade soy sauces and other fermented specialities and take them home with you. If you want to delve deeper, visit one of the workshops on various topics, which take place every Sunday from 2 to 5.30 pm. This is an opportunity to learn more about traditional techniques, the diversity of flavours and the importance of time as an ingredient. Here you will learn how soy sauce is made, what role microorganisms play and why time is a crucial ingredient. Instead of just tasting, you will get hands-on and take home knowledge – and perhaps some new favourite ingredients.

Enjoy the end of the day at MXPSM

At the end of the day , a high-proof craft experience awaits youat MXPSM . The Berlin-based manufacturer stands for characterful herbal spirits and a clear philosophy. Here, selected botanicals are combined with modern distillation techniques. From Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the products can be purchased directly on site. Once a month, the manufacturer also opens its doors on Saturdays from 4 to 6 p.m. for a guided tour – an ideal opportunity to learn more about the production and philosophy behind the spirits. An experience for anyone who wants to learn what makes a good schnapps and how flavours are composed.
