Michelberger X Prussian Spirits Manufacturer
Tradition meets modernity in the heart of Berlin-Wedding district: MXPSM continues the history of a liqueur factory established in 1874. Today, the spirits produced by the manufacturer are based on historical knowledge and artisanal craftsmanship, combining the past and the future.
In the 19th century, the experimental and training centre for spirit production was founded in Berlin-Wedding. In 2002, bar manager Gerald Schroff and microbiologist Prof Dr Ulf Stahl revived the old liqueur factory on this historic site - under the name "Preussische Spirituosen Manufaktur". Since 2022, the manufactory has been collaborating with the Michelberger Hotel under the name MXPSM.
To this day, spirits are distilled in the liqueur factory using historically documented processes and recipes according to the highest quality standards and ancient knowledge. The result is handmade spirits and liqueurs with a regional connection: the Wedding herbal liqueur, Danzig Goldwasser and Adler Berlin vodka are all made from high-quality ingredients and are inspired by old recipes that have been rethought in a new and regional way.
Once a month, the manufactory opens the doors to the production site: visitors can immerse themselves in the world of spirits during the two-hour tour, which includes a tasting session. From the selection of raw materials and processes such as distillation to storage and filtration, the entire path to the finished spirit is shown.
