The crowds on Simon-Dach-Straße could not be more colorful. This is where old-school Berliners mingle with hipsters, gourmands, and punk rockers. This diversity is also reflected in the restaurants, cafés, and bars of the neighbourhood, which have established quite a reputation for themselves in recent years. Many restaurants serving cuisines from all over the world have opened up in this neighbourhood around Boxhagener Platz. The gourmet restaurant PlusMinusNull, for example, serves Mediterranean cuisine, while Fatoush serves up Middle Eastern food and Habana serves Mexican.

In addition to the wide range of culinary offerings, you can also spend a fun evening in the area's cafés and bars. But if you reduce the Simon-Dach-Straße neighbourhood just to its gastronomy, you'll be missing out on the many small highlights that the area has to offer. For example, the Kino Intimes, where you can watch the latest films in a room with a charming 1970s vibe. The ladenkino is another unconventional cinema, showing films far from the mainstream, which you can enjoy on a swing, if that's your thing.

In winter, Haubentaucher hosts a Christmas market high above the city's rooftops. After which, you can warm up at the Primitiv Bar.

What's the best way to get to Simon-Dach-Straße?

Take the S-Bahn to Warschauer Straße and then it's a 10 minute walk to Simon-Dach-Straße. Alternatively, you can take the U5 to Frankfurter Tor, which is also about 10 minutes' walk away. Or take the M10 and M13 tram lines to Libauer Straße, which is only a few minutes' walk to Simon-Dach-Straße.

And, finally, a request:

Being really loud at night is no good. After all, Berliners do need to go to sleep sometime; they might just have to go to work the next day. Therefore, please try to consider the residents and keep it down after 10 pm.
