For Pitchfork Music Festival Berlin 2023, as in previous years, the lineup gathers innovators, upcoming stars and cult figures alike in celebration of Berlin's status as one of the most important cities for underground culture. Musically, it will be as diverse as it is exciting - and the slate of venues, including Zenner, Astra Kulturhaus, Betonhalle at silent green Kulturquartier and Festsaal Kreuzberg have all been carefully curated to enhance the attendees experience.
The first wave of confirmations already promises exciting nights:
For example, celebrated Israeli singer, musician and producer Dudu Tassa teams up with award-winning composer and guitarist Jonny Greenwood (Radiohead, The Smile). Rapper, poet, performance artist and activist Mykki Blanco will present his vision of queer rap music, while the band Porridge Radio as a new vibrant voice, as well as an interesting blend of art-rock and post-punk, is also a reason to look forward to. Joining the party after a long absence is Youth Lagoon, whose upcoming album "Heaven Is a Junkyard" can be categorized as a narrative between a world of love, drugs, storytelling, and miracles. Additionally, those who like things experimental should check out Manchester-based band Mandy, Indiana.
