Words in Orbit

The astronauts attempt to establish new forms of communication, but misunderstandings, disruptions, and gaps arise time and again between them.

*Words in Orbit* is a music theater project about space, disrupted communication, connection, and alienation in a technologically mediated environment.

The work asks whether language can still function as a bridge between people or whether it is increasingly becoming a barrier in itself—shaped by delay, mediation, and the fragile expectation of an immediate response.

Using sensor-based sound synthesis, live electronics, voice, percussion, and spatial sound, the composition explores the relationship between technology and communication.

The stage becomes an experimental space in which words, sounds, and meanings lose their fixed order and circulate through the space as fragile fragments.
