A woodwind quintet plays pop gems from 7 decades, arranged by Matthias Witting. What is left of a rock song if you take away its style-defining elements such as drums, electric guitars or keyboards and replace them with flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone and bassoon? This is exactly what the quintet ROCK ON WOOD has been doing for several years.

The songs sound unusual, almost chamber music-like, but you can hum them right away, they still groove, and their musical substance is clear. After the musicians have given over 100 songs this makeover, they present their favorites from 70 years of pop history as part of a winter concert.

Katja Reinhold (transverse flute), Grace Flindell (oboe), Antje Palowski (clarinet), Jörg Miegel (saxophone), Stefan Rocke (bassoon), Matthias Witting (arrangement and moderation)

Admission is free, donations are requested for the work of the organ support association.
