They’re striking right at the heart of patriarchy and they want to have fun doing it – with you!
Can you think of a male equivalent for ‘sl*t’ or ‘village whore’? No? Because it’s a well-established tactic: ‘sl*t-shaming’ is patriarchal repression in its purest form. Women and Flinta* people have had to deal with this for centuries, all over the world. Right up to the present day. The question remains: Who is allowed to exercise sexual freedom without having to endure insults or worse?
There are 12 Flinta* people who have collaboratively developed a performance on this topic. They’ve written scripts, devised scenes, choreography and game shows – and above all: over the course of a few weeks, they’ve become a strong group who are really keen to show you all of this. Including sad truths, fun facts and creepy creatures.
Come along!
Please note: Sexual harassment and violence against Flinta* people are among the themes addressed in this play.
