150 artists in 41 exhibitions at 36 galleries—that’s the Municipal Galleries’ Art Week. From October 2 to 11, 2026, the vibrancy of Berlin’s art scene will be celebrated with a diverse and free exhibition program.

In addition, there will be an extensive supporting program featuring performances, music, discussions, workshops, and guided tours.

The goal of Art Week is to present the quality and diversity of the Municipal Galleries and the featured artists to a broad Berlin audience in a unified showcase.

The program features solo and group exhibitions across the disciplines of photography, painting, graphic art, sculpture, installation, sound, performance, conceptual art, and video art, all of which explore artistic themes and current social discourses.

Opening Party – COME TOGETHER with a performance, concert, and DJ

Art Week kicks off with an opening party at ACUD MACHT NEU on October 2 at Veteranenstraße 21. It’s worth arriving early, as the evening begins with an artistic performance by Selin Davasse. Following that, the band Die Höchste Eisenbahn will perform, and the evening will conclude with a DJ set by Edna Martinez.

YOUNG – A Workshop Program for Children, Teens, Families, Preschool Groups, and School Classes

As a special offering for children and teens, workshops related to the exhibition themes will take place throughout the entire Art Week. Together with artists and art educators, participants will explore artistic techniques such as painting, sound, collage, and photography.

TOURS of the Galleries

The Art Week concludes with tours on October 11. Starting at 2 p.m., two bus tours, one subway tour, one tram tour, and a walking tour will each visit four to five galleries in one or more districts. During the tours, which last approximately three to four hours, participants will learn about the work of Berlin’s 37 municipal galleries. At each location, they will be welcomed by gallery directors, curators, and/or artists, who will discuss the galleries’ current exhibitions and program highlights.
