Come to the opening of the autumn/winter exhibition 2023/24 in the House of Paper and let yourself be enchanted by the world of paper art! Fine cuts, sharp edges, empty spaces, the play with the light that falls through carefully placed cuts.
The knife damages the paper and shapes it at the same time. It symbolizes the life that shapes us into the people we are through injuries, separations and cuts.
As if they had made a silent agreement, the four scholarship holders, Annabel Daou, Haleh Redjaian, Nadine Fecht and Serena Alma Ferrario, dedicated themselves to the paper cut technique this year. Sometimes with a knife, sometimes with fire.
The title of the autumn/winter exhibition is therefore: CUT.
The exhibition also shows, among other things: the works of Rachel de Joode from the summer residence 2022 as well as positions made of paper by Finja Sander, Johanna Dumet and Solveig Gubser.
The vernissage will be opened on November 2nd at 6 p.m. by Annette Berr, director, and Katharina Grosch, museum management.
Some of the residents will present their work on site to provide an insight into their work process during the Paper Residency! to enable. During the course of the evening, Finja Sander will also personally “activate” her massive sculpture.
Admission is free this evening.
