The art duo Various & Gould has been an integral part of the Berlin urban art scene for almost twenty years. Various & Gould have been working closely together as an art duo since 2005. They prefer to work with the media screen printing and collage. Her works are characterized by strong color and playfully deal with socially relevant topics such as (sexual) identity, migration or religion.
Both studied at the Berlin-Weißensee School of Art (KHB) and received their diploma in 2010 with Professor Alex Jordan (Grapus graphic artist collective).
For their multi-layered collages, they break down a wide variety of faces into individual parts and reassemble them into collective heads. Various & Gould is about celebrating human diversity and striving for equality in times of racist and anti-queer controversies. With this approach, in autumn 2023 they designed the church windows of the Church of Galilee/Start.Bahn in Neukölln, which had previously been bricked up.
Bishop Christian Stäblein regularly invites artists to present their work as part of cabinet exhibitions in the Evangelical Center Berlin. The exhibitions show artistic positions in painting, graphics and photography on a smaller scale and thus enrich the church's dialogue with contemporary art.
The exhibition can be viewed Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. No prior registration is required.
