The world in 2025: Donald Trump is once again American president and concludes a secret pact with Vladimir Putin: At a summit in Cairo, Trump cedes Europe to the Russian president, brings home his troops stationed outside America and leaves NATO. In return, Putin gives the American a free hand in his fight against China.

Behind the scenes, contact between Putin and Trump is maintained by two of the presidents' personal emissaries, who establish a special relationship of trust: Matt Sandler and Anatoly Rykov. They vacillate between loyalty and resistance as the Cairo pact increasingly proves to be a pernicious alliance of evil. Will the two succeed in saving the world from an inferno, or are they themselves merely pawns in a game in which the players are willing to go to extremes?

A thriller that leads to the abysses of unlimited power. And beyond.
