Barbara Fischer tells the stories of well-known goddesses anew and from a different perspective. In “Lilith”, the Nordic goddess heaven is reinforced by figures from Sumerian mythology and new fantastic beings. With “Freyja”, the battle against the impending destruction of the tree worlds enters the next round. A legendary epic full of magic, unpredictable twists and turns, mythical creatures from all over the world, divine humor and annoying dwarves.
In the third book, Frigg goes on a magical journey. “Frigg” is an ode to foreign lands and family alike and a saga of the power of love and the power of fire.
Barbara Fischer was born in Weimar, studied literature, ethnology and Indonesian philology in Cologne and then wrote historical features for Deutsche Welle, among others. In 2004, she became a lecturer for German as a second language.
Her career as an artist began in the late 1980s in the GDR. She has been publishing texts and poems in literary magazines and anthologies for 20 years.
The reading “Baumweltensaga” will take place as part of the Berlin Fairy Tale Days.
