Expert guided tour with Anette Mertens, Custodian of East Asian Porcelains, SPSG
Asian porcelain used to be called "white gold". Since porcelain production was not yet possible in Europe around 1700, the princely houses collected Chinese and Japanese porcelain with great passion.
In Oranienburg, Louise Henriette had already begun this passion for collecting. Her son Frederick I expanded the collection in the palace to about 10,000 pieces.
During the tour, visitors will learn how the porcelain was made in Asia, how it came to Brandenburg and other fascinating facts.
