Inclusive mediation offer

The exhibition will tell the story of the important Jewish art collector couple Felicie (1849-1908) and Carl Bernstein (1842-1894) for the first time and examine their influence on the Berlin art scene of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Max Liebermann was very impressed by the Bernsteins' art collection. It had a lasting influence on his own art collecting and he was a welcome guest in their weekly salon. Today, the Bernsteins are virtually unknown. This exhibition aims to close an important gap in Berlin's cultural memory and rediscover the lost world of the Bernsteins.

Experience a tactile tour through Max Liebermann's garden and the historic Liebermann Villa, immerse yourself in the world and history of this important Jewish art collector couple and experience selected works of art audio-descriptively.

  • The tactile tours are aimed at visually impaired and blind people.
  • Participation is included in museum admission.
  • Participation is limited.
