Schinkel Lectures with Prof. Dr. Matthias Noell, Universität der Künste Berlin
Karl Friedrich Schinkel's work is so diverse that, despite all the research and publishing work, it has not yet been fully processed. In the field of architecture, interest was generally focused on the public buildings in the city center of Berlin - the Bauakademie, the Altes Museum or the Friedrichswerdersche Kirche - or on the buildings in the parks such as Glienicke or Potsdam.
Less attention has been paid to Schinkel's various residential buildings, his floor plan solutions and residential functions. The lecture attempts to determine the guidelines of Schinkel's residential architecture and to investigate the reception of these ideas of housing in the modern era.
