Ravel, Messiaen, Benjamin

Sir George Benjamin’s chamber opera Into the Little Hill, based on the medieval tale of the Pied Piper, premiered in Paris in 2006. At the Pierre Boulez Saal, conductor Finnegan Downie Dear and the Staatskapelle Berlin present a concert performance of this first stage work by the British composer, who was awarded the 2023 Ernst von Siemens Music Prize. Music by Maurice Ravel and Olivier Messiaen opens the program.
