The ensemble SAXO CON MOTO under the direction of Friedemann Graef consists of 10 brass players who play groovy African songs, blues, South American tangos and American spirituals using only saxophones. In addition, some motets from the Renaissance have been orchestrated specifically for the ensemble. The flexible tone of the saxophones brings the magnificent melodic texture of early music to brilliant effect.
The ensemble played on tour in Israel and Denmark, in the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, in various cultural centers, often for the Brandenburg Village Church Summer and in Potsdam, also open air in the Grunewald hunting lodge and at the Thanksgiving celebrations in the Steglitz city park.
The ensemble is affiliated with the City West Music School (Charlottenburg).
