Biber: Mystery Sonatas

Metaphysical meditations in music: with his late 17th-century sonatas on the 15 Mysteries of the Catholic Rosary, Salzburg court kapellmeister Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber created one of the most fascinating and challenging collections of works for violin ever written.

Baroque specialist Daniel Sepec, who previously performed several of the “Mystery” Sonatas at the Pierre Boulez Saal, leads an extraordinary group of musicians, including violist Hille Perl, to present the entire cycle over the course of one evening.
