Proceeding from the biographies of the puppet theater performers Olena Hrabina and Daryna Yurchenko, The Room explores our idea of being at home and questions the emotional connection between a person and the place in which they feel safe.
What happens when they can no longer be there?
Using materials, objects, shadows and personal stories, the performers bring the room to life and research the diversity of emotional memory.
This is an attempt to use a deep view to see into the intricacies of the most secretive corners of one’s own being, hear sounds and find words – in order to restore that which is important and fragile.
- Duration 45 minutes
- In Ukrainian spoken language with German and English subtitles
