Robin Hood – The Musical

The music for this musical was composed by none other than the world star Chris de Burgh in collaboration with the successful musical composer Dennis Martin. Chris de Burgh wrote eight brand new songs exclusively for this production and gave the well-known hit "Don't Pay the Ferryman" a rousing German version, which became the anthem of Robin and his companions.

Dennis Martin, who has already become known with musical hits such as "The Pope" and "The Medicus" and has worked with world stars such as Meat Loaf and La Toya Jackson, contributed the remaining songs.

From April 10th to 20th, 2024, the musical will be performed for the first time in the Admiralspalast in Berlin and will take the audience into the medieval world of Sherwood Forest.

Chris de Burgh, who was closely involved in the musical's long-term preparations, is looking forward to the upcoming guest performances and emphasizes the special connection of this musical to Berlin, a city in which he has already given many concerts. He is sure that his fans and fans of musical theater will enjoy this great musical.

Chris de Burgh has been delighting audiences worldwide for many years with his unique music. The legend of Robin Hood fascinated him in his childhood because his own family history is linked to it. An ancestor of his was actually chief legal officer under King Johann Ohneland, brother of Richard the Lionheart, in the 13th century. Therefore, King John Without Land served as a historical model for the figure of Prince/King John in history.

The Story of Robin Hood – The Musical presents a modern reinterpretation of the legendary story of the King of Thieves. The focus is on the character development of Robin, who is born as the son of the Earl of Huntington. After a forced marriage, he flees to the crusade to escape his noble duties. After his traumatic return, he must overcome his fears and doubts in order to break away from his status. In the fight for justice, he finds his inner freedom in the woods of Sherwood Forest before his past catches up with him.

The production by Matthias Davids and the choreographies by Kim Duddy result in an exciting work of art that deeply touches the audience. The reviews are full of praise and speak of a fireworks display of music, dance and acting, presented in a modern way and with the music of a world star. It is a successful mix of serious content and exciting entertainment that delights the audience.
