Book Wednesday

From 1923 to 1945, Willy Fritsch was one of UFA’s biggest stars and the idol of an entire generation. He starred in the blockbusters of early German film history, in the first German sound film and in the first German colour film.

Even after the Second World War, he was able to continue his career, starring in the most successful ‘Heimat’ films until he retired in 1964 after appearing in almost 130 films.

The book also takes a look at the development of the film industry and stardom in the first half of the last century. The author will present her book in a multimedia reading.
