The Berlin-Tokyo Quartet received its name at the suggestion of the renowned Japanese composer Toshio Hosokawa in the course of an invitation to the Takefu International Music Festival. The ensemble was founded in 2011 by students from the two Berlin music academies. Since then, it has performed in numerous national and international concert halls and has received several awards for its ambitious musical interpretations.
