With over 4000 concerts throughout Europe, Pippo Pollina is one of the most popular Italian singer-songwriters.  In January 2022, "Canzoni segrete", his 24th album, was released.

Pollina captivates with his irrepressible creativity, with which he has also surprised his many loyal fans again and again for more than 35 years.
Be it with lyrical ballads, poetic protest songs or rocking songs: Pollina's language always remains sensitive and tender.

In addition to his concerts with his band, he has also collaborated with countless international artists, such as: Georges Moustaki, Franco Battiato, Inti Illimani, Konstantin Wecker, Rebekka Bakken, Charlie Mariano or Werner Schmidbauer & Martin Kälberer.

The new album "Canzoni segrete" is about the power of music and the consequences of prosperity, the strange pandemic and the changing passions, dreams, hopes, disappointments.

The songs - such as "Leo", a song already written in 1994 as an adaptation of a French original by George Moustaki - have their roots in the past decades, but predominantly in the months between January 2019 and June 2020.
They were recorded in studios in Italy, France, Germany and Switzerland, a comprehensive project that has challenged Pippo Pollina as a composer and poet, as well as a thinker, musician and arranger.

Pippo Pollina exults and rues, chats and reflects, in a voice both raw and sonorous, sometimes a touch laconic, but never without the fundamental reverence for the beauty of sounds and the power of art.

Because music is a gift. This is the basis, despite all doubts - for a sophisticated, mature and coherent album that Pippo Pollina brings to the stage in Berlin in 2023.
