The queer fairy tale series PINK GRIMM celebrates its comeback at the Glaspalast from December. Andreas Köhler and Roger Jahnke take on the fairy tales in their very own way, they give the classic role distributions a new perspective and breathe diverse life into Snow White and, as a premiere, The Sleeping Beauties in the play about gender.
Snow White
Behind the seven mountains by the seven dwarfs, in the dark forest, is the most famous male flat-sharing community in the world. Females - those pesky creatures who can spoil all the fun for men alone in the forest - are not welcome here. Snow White has no idea about all this and even wants to stay with the dwarves, hounded by the evil queen. A disaster! And who plays who? "You play the stepmother, I'm Snow White", "Well, let's see who's the fairest here".
The Sleeping Beauties
Secretly trying on clothes appears in a kind of flashback, mother's wardrobe opens the game of transformation by means of make-up and wigs from boys into girls - into a new identity? As pre-school children, the two protagonists wrestle over the distribution of roles: Who gets to play Sleeping Beauty or Sleeping Beauty, this overprotected child full of princess airs who is not prepared for growing up and certainly not for the onset of sexuality? And who will be kissed awake by Prince Charming?
