The earth is round, but its resources are finite. How can we meet global challenges such as resource scarcity and climate change? The answer sounds simple: We need to get back into the cycle! But what does that mean? A photo exhibition at the Biosphäre Potsdam shows examples of applications of a bio-based circular economy.

Bioeconomy means acting responsibly and sustainably. Researchers today are looking for innovative solutions to meet the demands of tomorrow. The exhibition "It goes round - Green Circular Economy" highlights approaches of a bio-based circular economy with the vision: We only use what grows. As far as possible without waste! Because every residual material can be used and every end product ends up back in the cycle.

Part of the exhibition is the hands-on exhibit "Come into the Cycle": Feed crickets, supply algae with oxygen, or build a small bridge out of hemp fibers - the exhibit invites visitors to participate and think about renewable raw materials. A team from the ATB developed this together with the Leibniz Institute for Vegetable and Ornamental Crops (IGZ) and the Extavium hands-on science museum. This was made possible by the project BioKiK - Understanding the Bioeconomy: Come into the Cycle, funded by the Ministry of Science, Research and Culture of the State of Brandenburg. You can admire the exhibition in our Green Corridor on the way to the Tropical Garden and it is included in the entrance fee.

We thank the Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy (ATB) for this nice cooperation!
