Max Skladanowsky – film pioneer and photographer

The Pankow Museum is reviving the exhibition "Pankow as a Motif: Max Skladanowsky – Film Pioneer and Photographer," which is dedicated to the lesser-known photographic work of the renowned film pioneer.

The presentation is based on the exhibition that was shown in 2014 in the preserved living quarters from around 1900 at Heynstraße 8, on the occasion of the museum's 40th anniversary.

On display is a selection of photographs, motifs that inspired Max Skladanowsky (1863–1939) in his immediate surroundings in Pankow and Niederschönhausen:

Winter streets and parks and the leisure activities of young and old were among his subjects, as was the urban development of what is now the Pankow district. The photographs were taken in the first two decades of the 20th century and offer rare views and insights.
