Together with a doctor, the boys nurse the young woman and rehearse a performance for her. Circus director Barlay is the guest of honor. He hires the recovered Corona and also gives the boys a chance. They later become world-famous as the “Coronas”.” (DEFA Foundation) An impressive children's and rubble film set in the circus milieu, shot before the GDR was founded on Schönhauser Allee, on the site of today's Jahn Stadium. Everything on sugar - with Henry Hübchen
Germany 2005, 95 minutes
An unemployed Berlin GDR sports reporter hopes for his mother's inheritance. But after her burial at the Jewish cemetery in Berlin-Weißensee, the seven-day mourning period begins and with it a very “unorthodox” family comedy that cheekily and lovingly tells of a clash of cultures in today's Berlin. “The fall of the Berlin Wall and German-Jewish history flow casually into a successful, excellently acted comedy about a man of life on the edge of the abyss.” (epd-Film)

Mephisto
HU 1982, 145 minutes - Director: István Szabó
“The rise of theater actor Hendrik Höfgen from provincial mime to director of the Berlin State Theater during the Nazi era. A psychogram of a career-obsessed man who sacrifices his convictions for success, based on motifs from Klaus Mann's novel. Höfgen's rise is also a model case for a multi-layered cinematic discourse on politics, power, morality, art and culture under the conditions of totalitarian systems. The lead actor's performance is outstanding. - Worth seeing!” (film-dienst) The film was shot on the forecourt of the Pankow town hall, among other locations.

Location: BrotfabrikKino
Caligariplatz 1
13086 Berlin
