Film programme in the "BrotfabrikKino" under the title "Pankow im Kino", in which feature films shot in Pankow and Pankow filmmakers can be experienced.


"Pankow in the cinema" is a project in cooperation between the Friends of the Chronicle Pankow e.V. and the BrotfabrikKino with the Tourismusverein Berlin Pankow e.V., the TIC Tourismus-und Kulturmarketing Pankow and with the support of the Büro für Wirtschaftsförderung Pankow.

THE SKLADANOWSKY BROTHERS

This film was made with graduates of the Munich Film Academy and is divided into three chapters: "How Papa invented the Kintopp", "The first screening" and "1895-1995". The last chapter is set in the present day (voice: Rolf Zacher). The occasion for the project was the centenary of the cinema. In 1895, the Skladanowsky brothers from Pankow screened their "Bioscope" in public a few weeks before (!) the Lumière brothers in France.

IFA founder Rudolf Meinert brought Asta Nielsen back to the film studio for the role of a drug-addicted opera star after a long break from filming. The singer Tamara sets heaven and hell in motion to save her daughter from her own fate. The film "IFA-Atelier" was shot at Schönholz Castle. Peer Kleinschmidt accompanies the film with music.

Documentation of an open-ended artistic process. In the presence of the artists Brigitte Cuvelier, Jean Chaize, Meika Dresenkamp and Marie Caroline Rössle. Tested and filmed in Schönholzer Heide and at the Delphi theatre in Weißensee.

In the devastated Berlin of the first period after the Second World War, five orphaned siblings repair a damaged, abandoned villa. But then a creep claims ownership. Almost completely forgotten, this early DEFA film is a sympathetic contemporary story that oscillates between realism and fairy tale.

With the title of his third feature film, Gerhard Klein also names the most important location. The main scenes are set in East Berlin's Prenzlauer Berg district. Here, in the middle of the old working-class district, a group of young people meet every evening under the viaduct of the elevated railroad, listen to music, dance to it, and practise testing their strength and flirting.
