Water is one of the most fascinating – and often most daunting – subjects in watercolour painting. In this four-hour workshop, you will discover that painting the sea needn’t be complicated at all.

Together, you’ll explore how watercolours naturally create the transparency, dynamism and softness that make the sea so captivating. Step by step, you’ll learn professional techniques whilst creating your own finished seascape.
The number of participants is limited to ten, ensuring there is plenty of time for personalised feedback and individual guidance.
In this workshop, you will learn:
- how to paint realistic and expressive waves;
- how to create depth and transparency in water;
- how to mix harmonious colour palettes for the sea;
- how to depict movement using watercolour washes;
- how to build up a painting from the initial sketch right through to the final details.
Along the way, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of watercolour painting itself, which will make creating future landscape paintings considerably easier.
Your ticket includes:
- all professional watercolour materials;
- personalised guidance throughout the workshop;
- a digital workbook with recommendations on materials, paper, brushes and paints, as well as explanations of the basic techniques covered in the course;
- coffee, tea and light refreshments;
- your finished watercolour painting to take home.

Accessibility
Access to the function room is at ground level and is reached via a 15 cm high step. Access to the toilet is also at ground level, but unfortunately it is not accessible due to a partition wall between the toilet and the washbasin.
