Works by Bruhns, Messiaen, Rihm, Susteck

The organ virtuoso Megumi Hamaya, who comes from Japan, delights audiences with her technical brilliance and subtle playing. She recently recorded her first CD and will be presenting parts of the program at her concert in the Sophienkirche. The concert offers an exciting and varied repertoire.

In addition to Japanese works by Toru Takemitsu and Toshio Hosokawa, there will be two world premieres: Ofer Ben-Amots, known for his combination of Jewish music with contemporary sounds, and Emre Dündar, a composer who pushes stylistic boundaries, have written new works especially for Megumi Hamaya.
