The Berliner Musikfreunde orchestra was founded in 1866 and is therefore the oldest orchestra in Berlin and the fourth oldest in all of Germany. The orchestra, often known by its abbreviation OBM, is firmly established in Berlin's amateur orchestra landscape. The orchestra has a wide fan base and regularly fills large venues such as the Philharmonic.
