Free admission to the Hamburger Bahnhof from June 16th to 18th, 2023
For three days, the Hamburger Bahnhof is celebrating the start of the three new collection presentations with free entry to all exhibitions and programs.
At the same time, the summer music series "Berlin Beats" will start with a DJ set by Ellen Allien in the museum garden. On the following two days, artist talks and tours behind the scenes of the museum and through all exhibitions will take place. The entire museum is open to the public.
With the entry-free “Open House” weekend, the museum is also celebrating the permanent preservation of the location through the purchase of the Rieckhallen by the state of Berlin and the historic building by the federal government in November 2022. The building complex and gardens are now under Monument protection and are permanently accessible to the Berlin population as a public place.
The museum is intended to be a central meeting point in the heart of Berlin, where art is placed at the center of real life. An invitation to all those interested to rediscover the building and to rethink the future of the museum and the entire district together with the team.
Six exhibitions, three days of events
The inner courtyard becomes an open-air stage and art picnic area. Visitors dance the tango in the historic hall, build a giant sculpture, collect sounds for the Hamburger Bahnhof soundtrack or use the walls of the Rieckhallen as a pop-up drawing studio and much more.
