Music Festival 2024

Into the Open (ITO) is a music festival of a new generation. It connects across national borders and genres. It brings together people who love music and want to experience it in an innovative way. It combines different art forms.

Outstanding young musicians from all over the world present classical music together with artists from other genres such as dance, drama or visual arts. This creates unique experiences.

The main theme of the festival in 2024 is “Visions”

The vision of the festival is to make classical music a new experience in exciting settings and to create “multimedia concert experiences” for all the senses. In January 2024, the second edition of the festival will be presented in Berlin with an exciting program. A total of six concerts show big names and institutions such as Martina Gedeck, the Barenboim-Said Academy, the vision string quartet and the Berlin State Opera in collaboration with representatives of the “independent scene”.

There are also international influences from Lithuania, France and Georgia as well as two world premieres of compositions that were written especially for this festival and underline the interdisciplinary character of the festival. Day after day, the Kühlhaus Berlin is transformed into a unique, spectacular setting.
