This tour takes you through the Molkenmarkt excavation site, where one of Berlin’s first power stations stood from 1889 onwards. During the excavations, the lower levels of the turbine and accumulator halls were uncovered, documented and backfilled. These have now been preserved for posterity and are to be integrated into a new building currently under construction on this site.
- The excavation team will guide you expertly around the current excavation site and present original finds from the power station.
The meeting point for the guided tour is at Molkenmarkt, at the construction site entrance on the corner of Parochialstraße and Jüdenstraße in 10179 Berlin.
The tour involves walking up steps and over uneven ground. Please wear sturdy footwear.
