Peppi Guggenheim’s ‘Exile’ music programme:
- Peter Van Huffel – alto and baritone saxophone
- Rieko Okuda – synthesiser
- Kellen Mills – bass
- Joe Hertenstein – drums
Bassist and TRYON founder Kellen Mills moves between experimental jazz, rock and compositions for large ensembles. Pianist Rieko Okuda draws on free jazz and electroacoustic experiments and has previously collaborated with artists ranging from Marshall Allen to Axel Dörner. Saxophonist Peter Van Huffel, known for his work with Gorilla Mask and Callisto, fuses jazz with heavy music and electronics.
Drummer Joe Hertenstein bridges the improvisational scenes of Berlin and New York, not least through projects such as his trio with Michael Moore and Greg Cohen.
A shared history, differing instincts and no agreed-upon goal. Any resemblance to a composition is explored.
- First euro for club membership, GEMA and technical costs. Concert on a donation basis. A reasonable contribution towards cultural activities is requested.
