FOR THEIR EGOS is a dynamic trio from Berlin. Right from the start, the band – whose core consists of Daniel Sauer on tenor saxophone, Seth Sjöström on electric bass and Mia Ohlmeier on drums – has worked collaboratively, seeking new avenues for co-creation and creative work. For this concert at the Industriesalon Schöneweide, Keisuke Matsuno will join the band as a returning guest on electric guitar, expanding the line-up to a quartet.

The quartet blends punk and avant-garde free jazz with the simple, beautiful sounds of traditional folk music. As a result, the band has found a voice all of its own that defies easy categorisation into any particular genre.
At times loud and intense, at times quiet and vulnerable, they occasionally draw the listener closer to a healthy madness.
Their minimalist compositions allow them to playfully explore the infinite possibilities of real-time decision-making.
FOR THEIR EGOS calls for open-minded ears and performs its music with a deep sense of the here and now.
