Chamber Music by Mozart, Roustom, and Arnita

In Arabic, nasmé means a breeze of air—a fitting name for the young ensemble Michael Barenboim has founded together with five exceptional musicians hailing from different parts of Palestine.

All of them students or alumni of the Barenboim-Said Akademie, they perform both European chamber music and repertoire from the Middle East.

For their Pierre Boulez Saal debut, they have chosen quintets by Mozart and Bottesini as well as works by Syrian-American Kareem Roustom and Salvador Arnita, one of the most important Palestinian composers of the 20th century.

  • Salvador 'Arnita - Andante meditativo for Strings
  • Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart - Clarinet Quintet in A major K. 581
  • Giovanni Bottesini - Gran Quintetto in C minor
  • Kareem Roustom - Palestinian Songs & Dances for Clarinet and String Quartet
