With the original film scenes of the global hit from 2012
Concert musicals are always something very special, if only because the focus is on the people on the stage and neither scenery nor other effects distract from them. "The Music of Les Miserables" succeeded in doing this extremely well, not least because of the extraordinarily well-chosen cast.
The Music of Les Misérables
The show comes alive when the entire company takes the stage. The orchestra, conducted by Stephen Ellery, never ceases to impress and lets the great vocal performances of 15 soloists and the choir shine with wonderful sounds.
"Les Miserables" by Boublil/Schönberg is the longest-running musical in the world. Hardly any other musical has this magic of moving and sensitive melodies and this overall drama that nobody can resist. These definitely include "1 Dreamed a Dream", "One Day More", "Do you Heart the People Sing" or "On My Own".
A new song was composed especially for Hugh Jackman for the worldwide success of the 2012 film.
"Suddenly" won the Oscar for best film song of the year and of course it can't be missing from this extraordinary concert!
Also extraordinary is the fact that original scenes from the 2012 hit film will be shown on the big screen at this concert - in cooperation with Universal Pictures.
