In addition to other well-known Christmas melodies, vocal music by Bach and Handel as well as the Armenian composer Komitas will be performed; also a French organ solo work by Claude Balbastre.
The highlight of the program is the “Messe pour le temps de Noël” (Mass at “Christmas Time”) by Michel Corrette (1707-1795) for two female voices and organ.
The concert is framed by the Christmas carol “Maria went through a thorn forest”; Israeli composer Ruth Alon has arranged a 3-part a cappella version for OrgaVoce in her distinctive style.
At the end, the audience will be happy to sing along.
