Loosely inspired by Nietzsche’s The Birth of Tragedy, Metaxy follows a central figure caught between two opposing forces: the Apollonian world of order, discipline, and ambition, and the Dionysian world of emotion, desire, and freedom.

Through contemporary dance, electronic music, light, special effects, and installation, these forces collide and ultimately search for a state of balance.
The performance features music selected and mixed live by Berghain resident Norman Nodge, with special effects by Dan Tombs (2MS) and lighting by Marco di Nardo.
Alongside the performance, Metaxy will feature an immersive exhibition that extends the world of the piece beyond the choreography, allowing audiences to experience the installation before and after the performance.
There will be six performances at Atelier Gardens on October 30 & 31 and November 1 & 6-8, 2026.
