Together, the four musicians from two continents create a roots sound based on acoustic instruments.

Robert Williams Hagelberger from Oklahoma with residence in Chicago, and the three musical Berlin veterans Ralf "Trotter" Schmidt, Tommy Goldschmidt and Stephan Hoppe are the members of this versatile and creative troupe.

Together, the four musicians from two continents create a roots sound based on acoustic instruments. Their performances are always stylistically diverse, and no two shows are the same.

With Robert's unmistakable, distinctive voice at the centre and with the help of the jointly developed acoustic arrangements and the sometimes polyphonic singing, a pleasantly intimate atmosphere is created at their concerts, which ensures an intense emotional dialogue with the audience.

The music of Melvin Touché & The Tom-Toms is roots in the best and broadest sense and encompasses a wide spectrum of different genres and styles: folk, blues and traditionals are represented as well as country, rhythm'n'blues, rock or singer/songwriter material. On the one hand, the musicians present a number of well-known titles, but also many an obscure discovery from the inexhaustible reservoir of the aforementioned musical styles. An equally large part of their show is taken up by Robert's own compositions from his extensive back catalogue, but also newer songs that he wrote especially for the toms.
